Laura Gravesen serves as Legislative Affairs Lead for Public Health Infrastructure at CDC. During the COVID-19 response she managed Congressional relations with appropriators as CDC received $17.5B in supplemental appropriations; she also served as the policy lead for the Data, Analytics, and Visualization Task Force. In her work with the Office of Appropriations she led the submission of CDC’s Congressional Budget Justification. She supported buildings and facilities, helping to secure landmark capital investments for a High Containment Continuity Laboratory on the Roybal Campus in Atlanta and a research and administrative facility for the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati, OH. She began her career at CDC in sustainability and served on detail to the White House Council on Environmental Quality.​

She earned a BS in Industrial Design from the Georgia Tech College of Design and an MBA from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business serving as a graduate teaching assistant in sophomore studio and a graduate research assistant with the Sustainable Design and Manufacturing Lab. She lives in Decatur with her husband and two children.​
